Fees

Fees for service depend on a number of factors, including the complexity of the student's needs and the student's age.

Payment of Fees:  Cash, Cheque or E-transfer.

Parent Consultation Meetings:

An initial one-hour meeting is needed to learn more about your child.  It is the first step to any assessment as we will discuss your child's medical, developmental and academic histories, personal strengths and interests, learning style, as well as your concerns.   The assessment process will be fully explained to make sure that you understand every aspect of your child's assessment.  There will be ample time to answer all of your questions to ensure that your consent is fully informed.

1 Hour = $200 (Due at the end of the meeting).

Comprehensive Psychoeducational and Social-Emotional Assessments:

Includes several hours of 1:1 testing, a phone interview with the classroom/resource teacher, scoring and analysis of questionnaire data, a written report detailing the results and recommendations, and a feedback meeting with parents and the student. Attendance at school team meetings and classroom observations are also possible (at an additional hourly fee).

Fee : $2400

($200 due after initial interview; $1000 due after 1st testing session; $1000 due after 2nd testing session; $200 due after parent feedback meeting).  When concerns about the presence of Autism Spectrum Disorder arise, these assessments require additional hours of testing and report-writing time and the associated fees increase by the number of additional hours required.

Preschool and Gifted Assessments:

For younger students and for those students with a talented/gifted learning profile, less assessment time is needed.

Fee: $1200

Individual Counselling Sessions and Educational Consultation Meetings:

Fee:  1 Hour = $200 (Due at the end of the meeting).

Extended Health Coverage:  Psychological services are not covered by OHIP.  Many employers offer extended health care plans that cover a portion of the fees for psychological services.  A Predetermination Request can be completed to be  submitted to your insurance company ahead of the assessment (upon request).  Fees may also be claimed as a medical expense on your income tax.

All fees are due to Lighthouse Psychological Services at the time the service is provided.  We do not 'direct bill' insurance companies.  A paid invoice is issued at the time of payment and then sent by the parent to their insurance provider.  It is the responsibility of the parent to find out what services are covered, and to send the paid invoice to their insurance company for reimbursement.

If it is necessary to change or cancel your appointment times, please allow 24 hours notice.
