Meet the Team
Jennifer Cook, D.C.S., C.Psych.
Director/Psychologist
Jennifer is a Registered Psychologist, and is a member in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (Reg.# 5541). Her area of competence is in School Psychology, providing assessment services to children, adolescents and adults. Jennifer has over 28 years of experience providing psychoeducational assessments, counselling, and educational consultation. She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Jennifer completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. She then achieved a Diploma in Child Study in Assessment and Counselling from the Institute of Child Studies, University of Toronto. Jennifer has worked in both school board and private practice settings.
Julia Steeves, M.A., C.Psych.
Psychologist
Julia is a Registered Psychologist and member in good standing with the College of Psychologist of Ontario (Reg #6671). She is registered in School Psychology. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, and a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Mount Saint Vincent University. She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP).
Julia has over 10 years of experience providing psychological assessments to individuals for a variety of concerns. She also has a background in short-term counselling and educational consultation. She has worked in school board settings, private practice, and children’s mental health with children as young as 2 years old up to college age students.
Shannon English, B.A. (Hons) Psychology
Office Manager
Shannon has been the Office Manager at Lighthouse Psychological Services for over one year now.
She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Huron University (Western) and she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University,
Shannon has a passion for helping people and is a strong advocate for supporting those with mental health needs.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Shannon worked at Huron University College as a Research Assistant, assisting her professors with their research. She recently published her first article based on
her thesis, entitled, “Uploading Risk: Examining the Social Profile of Young Adults Most Susceptible to Engagement in Risky Social Media Challenges”.
